Here are some random pictures of our past month.

Katelyn starting solid foods - She likes all fruits, but she is not so sure about the veggies.

Grandma Lightle's 80th birthday. Davis sat by the cake and while everyone sang to Grandma.....I really think he thought all this celebration was for him! He had the BEST time with all the attention.

This is Davis' new thing. He wants a wash cloth and a spray bottle and he puts in on his lawn mower and he walks around and sprays things and then dries them off. He is like a mini janitor!

Our VERY BEST friends the Warnocks and moving to Montgomery and I am so sad I can hardly stand it! Kelley has been like a sister to me and I am going to miss her so much! Casey and Kelley have been so close to us both throughout the years and I just can't imagine not having them close by. Davis talks about Uncle Casey and Aunt Kelley so much. Needless to say we have lots of road trips to AL in our near future! We had a quick last minute get together at their house last Sunday. It was so nice to get to hang out, but so sad at the same time. I was so busy talking and chasing Davis around I did not get many pictures, but here are a few.

Davis' First Day of School!

Davis started back to school at the end of August and he was so EXCITED! He walks into his school like he owns the place. He says hello to everyone and blows kisses to some of the ladies and they all know him by name....which I hope is a good thing...ha! Lance and I are just so blessed that Davis loves his school and that they all love on him as well. His teacher's name is Mrs. Jennifer and Davis LOVES her! I asked him who his best friend was the other night and he told me Mrs. Jennifer. He is already learning so much it is amazing to see his wheels start turning. He goes 4 days a week from 9 - 1. This year he gets to go to PE, Music, and Chapel. He loves this year especially because he gets to do car line and he thinks he is such a big boy. His year is going great so far, but I have to say I was a little worried when I picked him up the first day his report for the day said, " Davis loves dress up!". Oh, well he is ALL BOY 95% of the time!

Part Two: Logan and Karly's Wedding

This wedding was BEAUTIFUL! But, since I was going solo I did not get nearly as many pictures as I would have liked. Karly was a beautiful bride and Logan was so cute the whole night! He was so cute smiling at Karly throughout saying their vows. You could just feel the love between them. I LOVE weddings and love the reminders of what LOVE is.....makes me so thankful for the wonderful marriage I have and encourages me to strive to make it even better. After the wedding ceremony it POURED and even hailed, but after a prayer and a little waiting, it was perfect by the time the guests arrived for the reception. I am so glad I was able to go and support my cousin as well as see my family that I rarely get to see.

It is so neat to see these two still so in love to this day. They are such a great example of what true love is. They will be married 60 years in November, and their love simply amazes me! I can't wait to grow old with Lance!

Part One: Trip to Salt Lake City!

Most of my extended family lives out west, and I hate that we can't get out there to see them more often. It is just so expensive!! We did take a trip with Davis last summer and that was so much fun. My cousin Karly was getting married, and I really did not plan on going especially with just starting back to work, having a baby, and the money. It was just such a short trip to justify it all. But, at the last minute I decided to go, since my parents got my ticket for my birthday.....SWEET! I took Katelyn and Davis stayed home with Lance for a BOYS weekend! I am so glad that I went, I had so much fun and was able to see my family which made it all worth the trip!! Katelyn was SUPER the whole trip, I could not believe how good she was. She just went with the flow the whole trip! She just Below are our pictures from the trip, sorry there are so many! Remember this is my scrapbook, so I don't want to miss anything!! :)

Opa holding Katelyn.....Dad upgraded us to first class, so Katelyn really travelled in style for her first trip! Right after this picture Katelyn spilled my dad's drink of diet coke all over the passenger next to my day...OOOPPPS....we blamed that all on Opa!

She slept on Meme and I got some school work done on the way out there.

Above is the main reason we went on this trip! I wanted to make sure my Grandma Pope was able to hold and see Katelyn. She has Alzheimer's and sometimes she knows you and other times she doesn't. It is such a sad disease to me especially for the loved ones involved. I am just glad she was able to come and that she smiled when she held my little baby. It is just so sad to see her like this, losing your mind to me is just horrible! She did light up every time she saw Katelyn or held her....it really was special to see. :)

I cannot say enough good things about this Grandpa of mine. His smile in this picture just makes my heart melt! Grandpa Pope is famous around our house. Davis calls him every Tuesday with my mom. He calls him "Pope" and he asks to call him all the time. He will walk around the house with the phone and show "Pope" all kinds of things, if only "Pope" could see what he was showing him...ha! "Pope" is always a good sport when Davis calls. I am so glad that Davis loves his "Pope" even though he has only met him twice.I wish we could see them more, I know Davis would have so much fun with him. :)

We had a bridal shower for Karly and Ryan and Hillaree and Ryan's house hosted by Amber and Hillaree and it was fun. The boys all went out bowling and had a great time while us girls did what we do best eat and talk! Karly got some really cute things and some great advice about being a wife. Sweet Moments!

As I was sitting at Karly's wedding shower it was neat to think that my Grandma is really the everything in this family. If it wasn't for her and my grandpa none of us would be here, pretty cool....especially when it is a big family. Such a huge accomplishment for her and such a great example to the rest of us.

Me and my cousin Kiley - I was so glad to get to have some time to hang out with my girl cousins. This always makes me miss living close to my family the most. We all have kiddos around the same ages and I just know that they would all have so much fun together and I would love to have them close by! Oh well, it is what it is and I guess it makes me appreciate them all the more!

Taylee is not sure what to think of this two babies sitting beside her!! She would look at one and then look at the other...it was so funny to watch. Grayson really had better things he thought he could be doing, and Katelyn just talked and talked and had the best old time! She was quite the social butterfly!

On Saturday, the wedding did not start until that evening so we took the day and went to Park City for a few hours and it was so much fun! We started off my eating breakfast with my dad's brother Paul who happened to be in SLC the same weekend we were.

It was so good to see my brother Justin! I hadn't seen him since April.

Mom watched Katelyn while My brother, dad and I went to do the Zipline. down the mountain which was really fun! It went faster than I thought it was going to go...super fun!

Davis Update!

I think our little man deserves a little update. Davis is almost 2 years and 5 months old. Where has the time gone? He is a true joy to our family and we are so blessed to Davis' Mommy and Daddy. Davis just has such a sweet nature about him and truly loves people, but especially his new sister Katelyn. He cannot leave her alone and he loves on her at ALL times! I thought I would just bullet point some highlights about Davis right now, so we don't forget anything. I know this will be long, but hey, I have not had a Davis update in forever and I don't want to forget anything....ha!

Davis has been going to speech since about March. He goes twice a week to see Miss Melanie and she is his new BFF for sure! He talks about her constantly and he always leaves with a pair of rubber doctor gloves which he is OBSESSED over......ha! He is talking in complete sentences and we cannot get him to stop talking. We understand most of what he says and he is communicating very well right now. We are continuing to work on the articulation of some sounds and strengthening some areas of his mouth to help with this.
Davis LOVED the pool this summer! He finally started to really get brave in July after we got back from the beach. Now he will jump in and swim all over with his floaties.
He is still a ladies man and loves to hand out hugs and kisses to all of his friends.
He is a charmer for sure. He will talk and wave at a stranger over and over again until the stranger acknowledges him. He will keep trying until they give in and pay attention to him.....maybe a future salesman on our hands....hopefully not a politician!!
He is a Daddy's boy for sure....he would turn into Lance right now if he could!
He is still obsessed with vacuums, lawn mowers, and golf carts.
He is ALL boy and loves to rough house with Lance in the evenings.
Each morning he asks if he can wear a golf shirt, and if we ever go to the golf course he makes sure to tell me that Katelyn needs her pink golf shirt on.
He dances to music and loves to spin around until he gets so dizzy he falls down.
He has gotten hold of some sharpie markers and decorated the walls with artwork and that was just lovely!!
He has just started to watch TV. He likes to watch Elmo, Sesame Street, Curious George, and Barney but most of all he likes to watch Golf.....I know Lance is really happy about this.
He is happiest when he is kept busy and is outside.
He goes to time out several times a day these days.....we are in the terrible twos for sure!
He is starting to get his 2 year molars..and he is SUPER cranky!
He LOVED the beach and his favorite part was going up and down the beach and waving at everyone as well as riding the boogy board in on the waves.
He started school in August and he loves his new teacher Miss. Jennifer. He asks to go to school every morning, which makes me feel better.
He wears size 4 diapers, he wears 2T clothes and size 6 - 7 in shoes and weighs around 27 pounds.
He is beginning to potty train. He gets so excited when he goes we dont' even have to do prizes!
His new favorite thing to do is get a shower with daddy instead of getting a bath.
He talks great to people on the phone, but he walks around the house showing the phone different items. He think the listener can see all of his neat things. He calls Grandpa Pope every Tuesday, he calls him Pope and it is so cute to hear him call him.
He still likes to read books. He knows Brown Bear Brown Bear by memory and he can read it to Katelyn and it is so cute to watch him do this!
He is becoming more and more independent and hates us to help him with anything.
He likes to go to church and say he prayers each night. He usually is sweet and blesses his family.....but he always remembers to bless himself and Katelyn and ice cream even got blessed the other night....ha!
He is getting really good at asking for things and saying "Thank You".
He knows most of his colors.
He can count to 10 on some days and not on others. He usually starts with 2 and you tell him no Davis start with 1 and he always says, "no mommy, I start wif 2".
He is very much in love with his family. He asks for Meme, Opa, Nana, and Papa all the time.
He has just starting making references to Santa Claus, so I know we are going to have a fun next few months with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
He goes to bed around 8 and gets up between 6 and 7.
He is still taking a 2 1/2 to 3 hour nap every day...I don't want that to end..ha!
He likes to spend the nights away at his Nana and Papas and ride the golf cart.
He also likes to go to Opas golf course and run around like a wild man after we eat dinner.

I am sure there are a ton of things I am leaving out, but these are the highlights. We are just loving this age with Davis right now. He is so curious and learning like a sponge. We try to just take in every moment we can with him, he is changing into a little boy right before our eyes and it makes me so sad. I pray that Lance and I can mold him into the man that God has intended him to become. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for Davis and us! We love this little man so much and know that he is loved by so many others in his life. We are so blessed by all the people who help us with Davis.

Missing in Action.....We are BACK!!

I am not even sure if anyone missed us in the blog world, but this BUSY MOMMA seems to have no time for blogging once Katelyn arrived, but that needs to change! Blogging is one thing that I LOVE to do! It is relaxing for me and helps me keep my family journal, which is why I blog. I want to have a record of our family. I always think how cool it would be to read a journal of my life or my parent's life. I would love and appreciate that so much now that I am older. I don't have time for scrap booking or anything like that, so this is my scrapbook. I plan to print this blog one a year and have three copies made, one for us, one for Davis and one for Katelyn. Then one day they will have the story of our family to carry on with them. I have really fallen off the blog wagon these past 6 months. I am not going to lie, this two kid thing really has thrown me for a loop. I would not want it any other way, but man.....it is wearing me out!! Most of that is because I have a two year old named Davis who does not know how to sit still for any amount of time. He is overly curious and gets into everything!! We are finally all getting back into a routine and I do much better when on a routine. It just took us 6 months to get there...LOL!! I have made a goal to have a BLOG night once a week to post about our week's happenings. We will see if I can hold to that. I do have to say that I have such an appreciation for all moms especially those with husbands who are serving our country and they are taking care of everything on their own.......I truly don't know what I would do without my helpful hubby! He is amazing and I am just so thankful that I married my best friend and we work so well together. I am going to back post the past 6 months little by little, but I decided to just go from now on forward so I wouldn't get too far behind or overwhelmed. So happy reading to all of you, that is if I still have any readers....LOL!! :)

Katelyn is 5 Months Old!

Dear Katelyn,

I seriously do not know where the time goes! It seems like we just had you yesterday. You have turned into the best baby....I have to say you had us all worried those first few months! Once we figured out that you were allergic to eggs and I changed my diet you have been like a different baby. You are pretty much perfect right now except that you CRY way too LOUD! You can go from happy to mad in about one second. You usually only do that when you are ready to eat or want to be held, which is most of the time. You have been such a blessing to our family. Davis was immediately in love with you and I think he loves you more and more each day. You are now fully interacting with him which is so fun to see. You laugh at him constantly. The other day I found Davis in your crib with you and you both were smiling from ear to ear. It was hard not to get mad at Davis when I saw how happy you both were. Davis constantly tries to hold, hug, or kiss you and you don't mind one bit. I know this will change in the future, but I pray that you will be best friends with your brother. The love you all share just brightens our house. This month you have really developed a deep LOVE for your daddy and I think you might just be a Daddy's girl. Everyone stops me while we are out and about and tells me how cute you are and you just smile right at them like you "know" you are cute. This may get us in trouble one day, but for now it is cute. You love to be held and would actually prefer to be held all of the time. You still are not rolling over, but you are getting very close. You could care less about putting any weight on your legs which is funny because all Davis wanted to do at your age was stand up and jump. I guess you are just wanting to be a princess for now. Here are some facts about this month:

You wear 3-6 month clothes.
You wear size 1 diapers.
You are sleeping through the night. You wake up around 5AM and do some MAJOR talking, I guess you have lots to say, and then you go back to sleep for a couple of hours.
You go to sleep between 8 and 9 and wake up between 7 and 8.
You are nursing every 3 hours, except at night you can go all night, once in a while you wake up around 2 or 3 for a feeding, but not frequently.
When you do have a bottle you drink between 5 and 6 ounces.
You are a very fast eater.
You have started drooling like crazy, but I still don't see any teeth coming in.
You are holding your head up great and sitting up in your Bumbo seat great.
You smile and laugh all the time...especially at Davis!
You LOVE your baths.
You go with the flow and can adapt to our crazy daily schedule this summer.
You are not the best napper, but I am hoping once we get back in a routine with school you will be better at this.
You are batting at objects, you can hold onto objects and switch the object from hand to hand.
You can take your paci out of your mouth, but can't get it back in your mouth yet.
You LOVE to interact with people and so far seem to be very social.
You have started to take a morning nap and an afternoon nap some days and other days you just cat nap all day long.

Katelyn we love you so much and pray each day that you will become all that God has planned for you to be. He has so many wonderful things in store for you and we can't wait to see what those things are. You are one special girl and we are so honored that we have been chosen to be your mommy and daddy!

We can' believe it's true....our little man has turned TWO!!

Here is a video of us singing happy birthday to Davis. The first time we sang to him after everyone sang to him he screamed "again". So we all sang again and we got it on video the second time around. That is the first time I have sang happy birthday twice.

Time just goes by so fast....too fast for me! Lance and I are just LOVING this age. Davis is so much fun right now. Overall, he is just a healthy, sweet, caring, and happy child and to us that is most important. He feels loved and loves to love on others and we can't not ask for anything more than that. We truly cannot imagine our life without this little guy.

For his birthday we decided to scale back this year and just do a party with our immediate family and a couple of family friends that are considered family. I started to feel bad about not doing a kid party, but quickly was reminded by Lance that Davis would not remember or care and I know he was right, but I still felt bad. But, I no logner felt bad after his party. He was the happiest I think I have EVER seen him. All atention was on him and he was so excited to have everyone that meant something to him there. He was so wound up by the end of the night, we could not stop laughing.

He was so excited about opening his gifts! We wanted to wait until everyone was there and he was pacing around trying to pull his presents off the kitchen counter! I didn't even know he really knew what presents were.....but he obviously did! Aunt Kelley and Uncle Casey won the best gift award again....last year they got him his first lawn mower and this year they got him the leaf blower. We should have had him open their gift last because he was not very interested in the rest of his gifts after that. Although he kept calling the leaf blower a vacumn for the first week, I think he is finally calling it a blower now.

When it came to what kind of cake to get Davis, I had no idea what to get since he does not like Elmo or any of the other kid characters. But he is in love iwht lawn mowers so I got as close as we could to a lawn mower with this tractor. Kind of untraditional for a 2 year old cake, but it is what he loves right now. :)

He LOVED us singing to him.....so much so he said, "AGAIN" after we clapped!

After the party, Casey and Kelley stayed to hang out for a while. It was fun to get to visit with them....we have been so busy lately we have not had time to hang out together. Casey and Lance got Davis bathed and in bed and Kelley and I picked out paint colors for the house which is getting painted this week. Doesn't Casey look like a natural? He said he was going to take her home.........my mom let him know that he would be bringing her back pretty quickly.

Temperature Check

Davis had a high fever over Easter weekend, so he had several temperature checks which are not fun! A fews day later he was found trying to check his baby's temperature......and the funniest thing was he was doing it with Lance's work gloves on! We could not stop laughing at him!

Daddy's Little Helper

Davis has turned into a Daddy's boy to the extreme! He wakes up asking for Daddy, he goes to school asking for Daddy, and as soon as Daddy comes home that is who he wants. I think it is just so cute to watch these two interact. I should of taken a picture, but the other day I came home to Lance and Davis at the door and they both had on blue athletic shorts and gray t-shirts. I told Lance they were twins and Lance had not even noticed. It was so cute. Davis loves to follow Lance around and fix things with him. He also likes to do this same thing with his Papa. He loves getting into tools and fixing things. He also has a strange obsession with gloves and lawn mowers. He is now sleeping with Lance's work gloves and it is so funny. It makes me so excited to watch the two of them interact. I know they are forming a forever friendship and soon they will be having fun days fishing and playing golf.....I think they are both in HEAVEN!

Davis' new thing is to ask for the lawn mower as soon as lance walks in the door. It is like a ritual now. Lance comes home, changes clothes, and they go take the lawn mower for a little spin..ha! We are going to have to be sneaky and try to have Lance mow the lawn during nap time.....Davis will not be happy mowing with his play mower, he needs the REAL thing!

Parker's Birthday Party

~April 10th~

Davis met a friend Parker on the first day of school this year. Parker is a special friend because they share the same birthday...how weird is that! I have gotten to be good friends with Parker's mom Hillary and the boys have so much fun together. Parker no longer goes to school with Davis and we miss them so much! Davis always is talking about Parker "Car Car". I hope the boys can remain friends for a long time! Parker had a farmer birthday at the park and it was a BLAST! Davis loved the Tractor...that was his favorite part. Lance chased Davis around the whole time, I tended to Katelyn's every need (which is a lot these days) and we both tag teamed it to get a bite of lunch in......birthday parties are exhausting..ha! Parker also just found out he is going to be a big brother like Davis this fall! We are so excited for the Hull family to become a family of 4!

Funny Story -I emailed Hillary a few days before the party to let her know we could no longer make it because I had double booked our Saturday...I of course went on and on in the email about how bad I felt, and how I am losing my brain cells with two kids....she nicely emailed me back and reminded me the party was on Sunday not Saturday.....and then I looked on the calendar and there it was written on Sunday. So, I was glad we were able to make it. Does mom brain ever get better or does it just keep getting worse? If it doesn't get better I am in big TROUBLE!!

Katelyn Update - Picture Mania

Well....what can I say....two kids is much harder than one...ha! Even though I have not been updating he blog, I promise I have been taking pictures. This adjusment to two kids has been difficult for me. I feel like the house is never cleaned. Do you all ever feel like that? I feel like I clean the house about 4 times a day and it is still a mess.....UUUGGHHH! But, as I get frustrated with these little things, my wonderful husband, will remind me that all these little things do not matter and he is so right. As I was reading The Five Love Languages For Children I came across this quote that was speaking directly to me. " Don't be a victim of the urgent. In the long run, much of what seems so pressing right now won't even matter. What you do with your children will matter forever."

Family pictures are so hard with a family of 4.....LOL!

WAHOO...this was a big day.....Katelyn is in a 3 month outfit....this is opening a whole new door for outfits. I was getting a little sick of the few newborn things we had. The 3 month stuff is still a little big.....but we don't care...it's stylish!

Katelyn took a nap on Davis' bed while he got ready for school. He is still so sweet to her.

Katelyn is TWO Months Old!

~April 16th~

It is hard to believe that Katelyn is two months old...time goes by so fast. Well, month number two was WAY different than month number one.....I guess I spoke too soon about us not even knowing she was there sometimes. Katelyn has now made us aware of her at ALL times! This has not been an easy month for Miss Priss or the the Cone family.

Looking at this cute little princess, you would never imagine her being fussy, but that is all she has done this month! She stopped nursing well. Starting screaming at feedings, refusing to eat, arching her back,spitting up extreme amounts of milk and crying non stop! We knew something was not right, so I took her back to the doctor and we decided it was reflux. She started on Zantac which did not do the trick, so we then started her on Prevacid which helped, but she was still not as happy as we would like her to be....but we were beginning to think she may just be a fussy baby.

About two weeks later, she broke out in rash all over her body, so I took her back to the doctor (we have been in there weekly between Katelyn and Davis....I think they are sick of seeing us) and the doctor thought she may have a milk allergy so I have now had to take all major dairy products out of my diet since I am nursing. This is a big deal for me because I LOVE my cheese and nightly ice cream!

This happened with Davis at about 4 months and he ended up growing out of it so I hope this is the case with Katelyn. But, I think this did the trick because things are starting to get better so I think we are heading in the right direction.

Here are her TWO month STATS......keep in mind that she is two months old and still SMALLER than Davis when he was BORN!!

Weight: 8 pouds 14 ounces

Height: 22 inches

Head: 14.75 inches

Starting to hold her head up on her own.
Smiling which is so much fun!
She has started to make coos and we are so in LOVE with that!
She will follow objects with her eyes and bat at objects she sees above her.
She is wearing some newborn and some 0-3 month clothes.
Size one diapers.
She is still nursing about every 3 hours and waking up once or twice at night.
She LOVES her paci!
She seems to be a mommy's girl so far.
She has terrible smelly gas and her daddy hopes that continues so no one will want to date her....ha.
She is starting to enjoy tummy time.
She still has LOTS of dark hair and BLUE BLUE eyes.
She still has an attitude and HATES to be bothered in any way.
Beginning to stay awake more.
Wakes up once or twice a night. She has slept all the way through the night once. :)

Katelyn is One Month Old!

~March 16th~

I know this post is SUPER late! But, better late than never!

Well, what can I say......this is our little princess and we are in love with our little "sweet pea"! These first four weeks have been wonderful! She is such a good little baby, we barely know she is here. She just eats, sleeps, and goes to the bathroom. She only cries when she is being changed, bathed, or she is hungry. And she goes from calm as can be to outraged in a matter of 2 seconds flat....ha! When she is not happy she lets us all know immediately.

She is eating every 3 hours pretty much on the dot. We have had to take her in for weight checks these first few weeks, but she seems to be gaining well. She is nursing great, which is wonderful since Davis was such a chore to nurse.

These first few weeks she barely would open her eyes I guess since she was two weeks early. She is definitely a snuggler and loves to be held and cuddled. She is now sleeping in her own bed and doing pretty well with sleep. We lay her down to bed after her last feeding and she puts her self to sleep which is so nice.

She goes to sleep between 9:30 and 10:30 and wakes up again between 2:00 and 4:00 and then she is up again between 6:00 and 7:00. We can't really ask for anything better than that! Although, when I looked back at my notes I saw that Davis was starting to sleep ALL the way through the night at this point!!

Here are her ONE MONTH STATS......she is still a little peanut!

Weight: 8.0

Height: 21 inches

Head: 14.15 inches

Just in comparison...Here are Davis' one month stats....this is pretty funny!!

Weight: 10.7

Height: 24 inches

Davis is still loving his little sister more than anything in the world! He is just so sweet to her. Every night he has to hug and kiss her about two times before he goes to bed....it is so cute. I hope this love continues over the years (wishful thinking I know)!!

She still has TONS of hair! She has not started losing it yet. Her eyes are also getting more blue each day....could we possible have a dark hair blue eyed girl...we shall see.

I really think that Katelyn and Davis look so much alike as I look back at his baby pictures. It will be interesting to see how she changes of this next year. It always amazes me how much they change the first year of life. She is beginning to hold her head up a little more, but she still needs a lot of support. She does not enjoy tummy time, but we still try to get it in daily.

And she has now officially had ENOUGH of her photo shoot!

What has Davis been up to?

It has been so long since I have updated our blog.....this two kid thing is taking up all my time, but I wouldn't have it any other way!! Well, our little man Davis is just such a LOVE BUG! We can't get enough of him right now. He is just so much fun and we are loving every minute of it. His favorite person of all time is his DADDY! If he could snap his fingers and turn into DADDY...he would do it in a second. He is still LOVING his baby sister. He wakes up every morning asking for Kate and he always asks to "hode" her. He would just take over as her mom if he could. He really is pretty gentle with her, but you have to watch him like a HAWK. The other day we were doing tummy time with Katelyn and Davis was right there being so sweet. The phone rang and I went to pick it up and as soon as I turned around he had poured a whole glass of water on her head...she was SOAKED and SCREAMING so of course then Davis started SCREAMING because he felt so bad...LOL! It was pretty funny, and I am just glad he just dropped water on her and not the cup....oh my! Here are some random pictures of him in no particular order (they are from the last month or so...since I have been a bad blogger, I had so many pictures that I have not put up...no time anymore). Davis has a huge vocabulary and is talking up a storm, but it is very hard to understand him sometimes and he is not putting two words together yet. Of course I was worried and had that "gut" feeling something was off. We had a speech evaluation and he is going to start going to therapy two days a week. I am so thankful I caught it early and hopefully we can get him back on track. He is about 4-6 months behind in his expressive language. His speech has improved dramatically since tubes, but I knew he still needed some more help. Lance and I are excited to get this started and help our little buddy be the best talker he can be! He is starting to get frustrated when we can't understand him. He obviously knows exactly what he is saying, but we just can't figure it all out.

His new thing has been to wear this hat of Lance's everywhere! He asks to take it to bed every night. He walks around the house with a hat and glove on...it is so funny! He used to go to bed with nothing. Now he asks to take books, gloves, hats, pacis, and baby dolls to bed....random I know.

He has been loving this nice weather and likes to eat his afternoon snack in his wagon outside. I am so glad we have a fenced in yard and Davis can go play.

He has also started to take his pants and diaper off and ask to go to the potty. He never will go to the bathroom but he loves to sit there, wipe, and flush the toilet. I am just not ready for potty training yet. We are going to start this summer...wish me luck..haha! If anyone has any good books or ideas to help with this please let me know.

He loves to play in the water and help me bathe Katelyn (notice this has not stopped since he fell and hit his head) It is still a battle all he wants to do is play in the sink. Don't you love his his hat.....it is one of his newborn hats....I can't believe it even fits him but by golly it did and he is going to wear it...ha!

Visit to Zoo Atlanta

~March 17th~

I bought a Groupon for the Zoo, but it had to be used before April 1st. So as soon as the weather starting getting nice I knew we needed to take Davis. We decided to brave it and take Katelyn and Davis since Katelyn has not had a bottle yet, I really didn't want to leave her in case she would not take a bottle. Lance and I were so excited about taking Davis. We thought he would be overly excited. He did have fun, but he was not as excited as we thought he would be. Some things were hard for him to see. I think he will really like it next year. He also got fussy towards the end and we missed seeing the Pandas and the petting zoo stuff so we will have to go back again.

He loved looking at this bear, it was so close to him. He kept saying "night night". He also cried when Lance took him away from the window. I think he would have sat there all day.

As you can tell Davis LOVES taking pictures! I hope this phase passes quickly because I LOVE taking pictures!!

Fun Times with Fun Friends

This past few weeks Davis has had several play dates and has had so much fun! Here are a few pictures to enjoy!

My best friend from high school, Julie, came to meet Katelyn and let Davis and Calleigh play. They had fun and wanted to be outside even though it was a little chilly for the moms.

Last week my friend Amy brought over her two girls Kylie and Ansley to meet Katelyn and play with Davis. They had so much fun. Davis enjoyed playing with the two girls and they all got along great. The girls even brought him a little birthday gift which he loved!

My friend Shannon brought over her twins to play with Davis one Friday afternoon. It was so good to catch up and let the kiddos play! They got along great, and Davis did not hit or push Kevin this time so there was some improvement. :)

So Sweet!

There is a store near us that sells play ground equipment. On Wednesdays and Fridays they have "free play" where the kids can play on the play sets for free. We went with my friend Mary Paige and her son Alex. The boys had a great time, and now I am ready to buy one after I say how excited he got and how well hi played on his own.....Lance is not so sure about this.....but Davis really NEEDS one...LOL!

~March 13th~

Jenn, Derek, and Tayler came to visit us on Sunday and we had a great time visiting and letting the kids play. Katelyn was wonderful and slept most of the time. Davis and Tayler played so well together. And the adults (well I am not sure Lance and Derek act like adults when they are together) had fun catching up! We wish Derek and Jenn lived closer. We have so much in common with them and just love spending time together.

Davis taking Tayler around the yard....he is such a gentleman. He pushed her around in his car and he even kissed her on the cheek when she went home (I am not sure Derek liked that...ha!).

Katelyn enjoyed relaxing after everyone went home......she is the love of our life right now!

~March 11th~

My mom is so stinking cute and now she is half way to 100.

Birthdays have always been important days with my family! We always got to sit in the front seat all day (my brother still thinks he deserves this right which cracks me up since we are old!) and eat at a restaurant of our choice! Well, things have now changed since we have little grand babies and they do not fully cooperate at restaurants. Since I am nursing Katelyn and she is only a few weeks old we decided not to venture out for Mom's birthday. We ordered Macaroni Grill to go and I finally got to use my Birthday Plate. I made this plate when I got married to have and use as a family tradition.

3rd Week Home - "NO HELP"

~March 6th - March12th~

Well, this is my first week with no help! I guess we got spoiled the last couple of weeks with Meme and Nana and now reality is setting in. I have to admit I was a little nervous, but the week overall went pretty great. I have learned that I have very LITTLE me time anymore, showers are not heard of, laundry never ends, the house is never clean (even though I feel like I am cleaning all the time), I never go to the bathroom alone, I have kid songs in my head all day and all night, I find myself waiting at the door like an excited puppy dog for Lance to come home so he can help me, things I said I never would do with Davis I am doing with Katelyn...ha, I spend 1/4 of my day nursing Katelyn, spend most of my day talking about poops, pees, feedings, burps etc., but most importantly I found myself asking Lance for a minivan which I swore I would NEVER do! All you mamas out there can relate. When I read this it does not sound very fun, but I would not have it any other way and I try to remind myself of that when I am on the verge of losing it (this does happen daily since I have a toddler....ha!)

I usually begin my day feeling like Katelyn in this picture...pretty relaxed and ready for the day!

And I end a lot of my days feeling like this! But I know it is so worth it and I get up the next day relaxed, happy, and feeling so blessed! I LOVE my life!

You are probably thinking oh, how cute! Davis is such a good helper......but it has turned into a constant battle! My mom and I started a BAD thing! We let Davis get on a chair and help us bathe Katelyn. I thought it would be good to make him feel like he was helping....this was such a BAD idea! Now, he always has to help me and play in the "wawtur"! He constantly pulls the kitchen chairs around the kitchen and tries to climb on the counters, play in the sink, etc. Lance and I are constantly saying "NO!" "You do that again and you are going to time out!" "Do you want a spanking?" All three things are not working as we are still having a constant battle of the chairs.......UUUGGGHHH!

After he washed Katelyn's hair, he had to put the remaining shampoo in his hair....ha!

Second Week Home

~February 27th - March 5th~

Lance's mom left us on Saturday and my mom came to help out the 2nd week. We were so thankful for the help. It was so nice to have someone play with Davis so I could have some one on one time with Katelyn. My mom is so helpful and we have so much fun together. We took Katelyn to the doctor, had newborn pictures, and I kept her busy with lots of projects! We cleaned out several closets and she even cleaned my china cabinet which I hate to admit has not been cleaned since she cleaned it before I had Davis....YIKES!! She tried to make me rest several times, but that is so hard for me to do!

Davis' friend Parker came over to visit. It was fun letting him and Davis play and having time to catch up with his mom Hillary. Davis and Parker met at school and they share the same birthday. I have enjoyed getting to know Hillary and am thankful that we met through school. I hope Parker and Davis will remain forever friends (I have a feeling they will....they are so funny together)!

Jackie, Ashley and Lily brought over dinner on Friday night. It was so fun to visit and catch up. Lily is exactly one month older than Katelyn.....it is amazing what a difference one month can make. We kept joking that Lily was hanging out with her "drunk" friend Katelyn. If you see the pictures below you will know what a mean. I am so thankful for the friendship I have with these girls!

Katelyn and Great Grandma Lightle

Gail and Neal brought Grandma Lightle over to meet Katelyn on Sunday. It was so nice to see her. It is so nice that Lance's family is so close. This picture makes me so sad, that I cannot get a picture with my Grandma and Grandpa since they live so far away. Utah is a little far away...hopefully we can get back out there in a couple of years. I miss my family out there so much especially during times like these.

Well, on Saturday March 12th I ventured out to a birthday party by myself with Davis. I left Katelyn at home with Lance. It was a quick birthday since I had to be back in 2 and a half hours, but we did it and had fun. Davis went to his friend Georgia's 2nd birthday. He had a blast playing, although you can't really tell by the picture. It took him about 30 minutes to get warmed up and want to play and then I couldn't get him to leave. He threw a fit the whole way out the door....got to love those tantrums!

I met Gillette working at Midway a couple of years ago and we have developed such a great friendship. We have so much in common with the little ones. We also are both working at GCA now so that makes it nice to have someone to talk to about work and the "terrible twos"! Georgia and Davis have fun together...I just wish we could get them together more.

First Week Home

~February 20th - 26th~

Well, first of all we are just so thankful that Katelyn is here and that she is healthy and happy. We feel so blessed. Babies are just such a gift from above and it seems so surreal. Everyone says you just can't describe how becoming a parent makes you feel and the love that you feel immediately for your child is amazing! It is so true, and I have to say that it feels the same way the second time. Lance and I are so in love with her and I have to say I think Davis is in love with her even more than us....ha! He LOVES his sister so much!!

We are so thankful to have family that lives close by! My mom was there to help us the first few days and then Lance's mom came over on Tuesday and stayed with us the rest of the week since she was off school it worked out perfect. My mom came and helped us the first week in March, so I had two full weeks of help which was so nice especially since Lance got sick. He had bronchitis and a sinus infection and he was miserable! I am just so glad his mom was here to help so he could rest and get feeling better. It is no fun to have a sick husband especially when yours helps as much as mine does. Here are a few pictures.....I have already found that you take way more pictures with your first one. I don't have much time since I am also chasing a busy toddler around.

This first week Katelyn has done wonderful! She is gaining weight and nursing wonderfully so far. She will nurse for about 15 minutes on each side about every 3 hours.......sometimes 4 hours at night. She sleeps all the time. She seems to sleep more than Davis, I am thinking maybe that is because she was two weeks early. She is starting to open her eyes a little more, but not too much. She is still sleeping in our room in the travel pack and play, but we are going to move her to her room soon.

He started out by just looking at Katelyn, but now he has progressed to trying to climb in! I don't know what is worse a dog or a toddler...ha (Hershel did this same thing when we had him)!

You can just tell how much he loves her by his face it is precious to watch him interact with Katelyn.

She is still HATING her bath and crying the WHOLE time! She is drama already....haha!

Katelyn's Nursery

I have now found out how much time it takes to take care of two little ones.....for all of you who have kiddos and blog, feed your kids, clean, shop, cook (Well...Lance does that thankfully!), do the laundry, have me time (I don't know what that is anymore) etc......I don't know how you do it! Hence....why I am so behind on my blogging. I soooo want to get caught up but I just don't know when I will have the time. Maybe this weekend.....we shall see! When I do have time, I usually choose napping over blogging...ha!

Here are some pictures of her nursery so far. It is not fully complete, but I will post pictures of the finished product when it is complete.

It is not the typical pink nursery that I dreamed I would want......it is actually not pink at all, but I am totally in LOVE with it and I think it is something she can grow into.

These curtains are to DIE for and they bring the whole room together! Lance's aunt made them for me and I could not be more happy.....they turned out AWESOME...I could put them in my room I love them so much.

Katelyn's Newborn Pictures "Sneak Peek"

I have so much to update! I will try to get an update up this weekend with some recent pictures, but until then here is a "sneak peek" of Katelyn's newborn pictures. We were unable to book pictures with our photographer Katherine and I was so bummed. She moved to Tennessee and you have to book pictures around when she will be in town which can get tricky. She couldn't get to us until the end of March and I knew I wanted pictures of Katelyn when she was just a couple of weeks old, so I went with another photographer that a friend recommended and I was so nervous, but after seeing what she captured I am so excited to see the rest of the pictures, and now I think I am in love with two photographers.

These pictures were taken when Katelyn was exactly two weeks old. Mom went with me and we took Davis for the first few minutes but he was all out of sorts since we were at the photographer's house, I am really not sure how those turned out, we shall see!

Once she posts all the pictures I will put them on our blog, but until then enjoy these on her blog.

Davis Starts Swim Lessons!

Davis had his first day of swim lessons on March 5th. He goes on Saturday mornings with Lance. We thought it would be fun for him to having something special to do with Daddy on Saturday mornings. So far he is LOVING it! He talks about the "poo" and "wawtur" all the time! He even practices his swim stroke and kicks on the carpet and it is so funny! Here are some pictures.

Katelyn and I went to watch on March 19th......she pretty much slept the whole time as usual. Davis was excited for her to come and watch although you can't tell fromt his picture...ha!

Home Sweet Home!

Boy does it feel good to be home! Since things were going so well we were actually able to come home one day early. I cannot even begin to compare my 1st C-Section with this one. I feel 200 times better than I did after having Davis and I am so thankful for that. I am also so thankful for our wonderful families that have helped us. Lance's mom and my mom have been rotating helping at our house and it has been wonderful. I cannot drive for two weeks and I have to limit my lifting to nothing bigger than the baby which is so hard with Davis.

We came home on Saturday, February 20th. The whole time I was set on having Davis arrive at the hospital and go home with us as a family of 4. That was very important to me, however that did not go through as I had planned. Davis came down with a fever so he got to stay with Nana and Papa for a few extra days. Lance and I were pretty bummed, but quickly realized it was for the better. It was nice to have a few days to adjust before having Davis come home. My mom came over to help us get settled in and that was nice. I forgot how much work newborns are and how tiring it is....but don't worry I now remember!

Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, and phone calls. We are so appreciative of all our family and friends. We are ready for visitors so come on over....can you tell I am getting a little cabin fever??

Katelyn is nursing great and eats about every 3 hours on the dot, sometimes 2 hours, but mostly 3. She pretty much eats and sleeps. She has been an excellent baby so far and we are so thankful for that!

Katelyn's First Bath

My mom and I gave Davis his first sponge bath together and we were able to do the same thing with Katelyn. I love having my mom so close. I don't know what I would do without her. Katelyn pretty much cried the whole time, but she needed a bath, her hair was one big ball of grease!

Katelyn's First Doctor Visit

Monday, February 22nd

I didn't get any pictures of our visit to the doctor, but everything went very well. They were a little concerned with her weight as she had lost 7% of her birthweight in the hospital, but she gained 2 ounces in two days so they were happy with that. They had us come back for a weight check on Wednesday and she had gained another ounce on Wednesday, so we are on the right track. Lance and I were laughing because Davis was in the 99th percentile for weight and height and Katelyn is in the 15th percentile. Katelyn also has to go to a cardiologist on Monday. They noticed that her heart sometime skips a beat and we need to get it checked out to make sure everything is ok. I am sure everything is fine, but I will be glad when we know that for sure.

Lance's office gave us a basket full of shoes and socks of all different sizes for Katelyn. It was so stinking cute. Davis really liked the boots, and he put one boot on and walked around all night in the boot. We were cracking up that it was just one boot. Then he put on my purple glove and started to mow the lawn. It was so funny I had to get a picture.

Davis has adjusted so well to his new baby sister. He has shown no signs of jealousy. The only problem is he loves her a little too much if you know what I mean. Lance and I are so glad that he is doing well and adjusting to being a big brother.

I got out of the shower and saw this when I came out! I LOVE Lance....he is the best Dad! Do you think she already has her Daddy wrapped around her finger....I do!! :)

Davis came to visit his sister with Nana on Friday. He had a pretty good visit, but he was very concerned when Katelyn would cry and he would start to cry.....oh my, I am going to have my hands full....LOL! Sorry for all the pictures, they were all just so special to me, I had to post them all for my memories. Davis loves his little sister so much.......sometimes a little too much as you can see...ha! Katelyn Jule Cone's Arrival

Well, I know I have let way TOO much time go since blogging, I have barley blogged about this pregnancy....I will have to go back and post though, I have pictures I have just not taken time to do the blog entries. Overall, this was a great pregnancy...........totally different than Davis. No swelling......need I say more...haha! :)

We were scheduled for a C-Section (we decided to do a repeat C-Section since Davis was a C-Section I did not want to take any chances) on Wednesday, February 23rd. Well, I woke up at 6:30 AM on Wednesday, February 16th to my water breaking......OH MY!! So much for my relaxing planned C-Section where I could go in relaxed, bathed, make up on etc. We called my mom to come over to watch Davis, began packing the car, and prayed that we would make it to the hospital in time since it was RUSH HOUR traffic and we had to travel to Atlanta on GA 400. Lance was very calm....I on the other hand was a little NERVOUS!

Katelyn Jule Cone was born at 1:00 PM.

She Weighed 7 pounds and she was 20 1/2 inches long.
She is healthy, beautiful, and a true gift from above!

Dr. Hsiao with Katelyn....we LOVED our doctor and were so glad he was able to deliver Katelyn since it was no longer scheduled we didn't know if he would be able to deliver her.

She CRIED like crazy and Dr. Hsiao let us all know that she already had a major attitude...ha!

Big BOY Bed....here we come!

~December 23,2010~

Davis is officially becoming a BIG BOY! Since he is going to have a little sister arriving in February we thought it was a good time to switch him over to his big boy bed. He helped Lance put the bed together and he seemed really excited about his new bed.

Here is the finished product! Now I just have to go shopping for a few little things to make his room a little more fun. I LOVE how it all turned out, more pictures to come.

His first night in the big boy bed was on December 29th and so far so good! Lance and I had prepared for the worst, but he seems to have adjusted just fine. The first morning he cried for us to come get him, now he gets up and walks to Lance's side of the bed and says "hi".....it is so cute!

~December 23, 2010~

I was cleaning the kitchen up and wrapping gifts and it was really quiet, so I thought for sure Davis was up to no good, but this is what I found and it was just too cute! He was walking around saying Daddy and pointing to his shoes.

He walked all the way into the foyer to the Christmas tree.

Then he TRIED some dance moves....haha!

He keeps us smiling for sure!

Davis Gets Tubes!

~December 22, 2010~

Well, the day has come.....Davis had to get tubes! He has had about 5 ear infections, which is not too many, but this last one we could not get rid of. He tried several rounds of antibiotics, then a series of three painful Rocephin shots. The shots finally cleared the infection, but he still had fluid behind his right ear....so off to the ENT we went.

I have been worried about Davis' speech for a while, I kept telling Lance that it sounded muffled, but I also knew that the teacher in me begins to worries about these sort of things too much. I really felt like he was not pronouncing sounds like he used to. He understood everything we said and would follow commands so I was not super worried, but in the back of my mind I thought something was not right. Davis is saying a ton of words but none of his words were very clear.

They did a hearing test at the ENT and we realized that Davis was not hearing very well which of course had me immediately worried. The ENT suggested one more round of antibiotics, but it did not work so I pushed to get tubes ASAP as I did not want this to delay his speech. So, they scheduled us for the 22nd of December.

Davis did great with the surgery! The worst part was he was not scheduled until 11:05, so he did not have anything to eat or drink since 8:00 the night before which was rough! Lance went back with him while they put him to sleep, I am glad he was able to have one of us with him. The doctors warned Lance that he would get extremely fussy and he proved them all wrong. Davis went right to sleep, they told Lance he was the best patient they had that day. The doctor said that the surgery went well, but that he had a large amount of thick fluid behind both ears, which meant he was not hearing much at all.

I cannot believe the difference in his speech, he is speaking so much more clear now and he is trying to say more things each day. Lance and I are so excited to see this!

I cannot say enough good things about Children's Healthcare of Atlanta! They took such good care of Davis! They even had clowns that came to each of the rooms with toys, tricks, and they even sang Christmas songs....Davis LOVED this!

Davis was running around the surgery center like he owned the place. The nurses told him he could run around all he wanted to. His favorite place was the chalkboard wall. He also blew everyone kisses as they left the surgery center.....he is a mess!

This is a Lightle family tradition they started years ago. I love this tradition because it gives us time to just relax as a family which is exactly what I love about the holidays. This is my 8th trip with the family....that is so hard to believe. This is always a fun time and Lance and I look forward to it each year. I am looking forward to next year when I can actually go on the hikes. I was laughing thinking in 2008 I was pregnant with Davis and so swollen I could not do anything, in 2009 I was nursing Davis and could not leave him for long periods of time, and now 2010 I am pregnant again! Anyhoo we had a great time and are already looking forward to next year. I didn't do as well this year taking pictures because all I do is CHASE Davis!

One of the perks of working at home is being able to attend all of Davis' school events and volunteer to help, which I LOVE! His party consisted of a special snack, a craft (Making a nativity scene out of stickers), and a book exchange. It was so cute and Davis had so much fun. We are so blessed to have him in such a good class. We love his teachers Mrs. Cassie and Ms. Paddie. I know he is loved on by them each day and I could not ask for anything more!

After our first Santa Claus trip, Lance and I started coaching Davis to LIKE Santa and it worked! We talked about Santa, read books, taught him how to say "ho, ho, ho" etc. He was LOVING Santa after a few days, so I was just HOPING that he would sit on his lap without screaming and he did. Lance and I were so excited! He went right up to him and said, "ho,ho,ho". He of course blew Santa LOTS of kisses and he could not stop looking at him, we barely could get a picture of him looking at the camera. We had a great time at our 2nd Breakfast with Santa with Meme and Opa and are looking forward to next year already!

Why do some outfits make you looks so big when you are pregnant, I thought I looked fine in the mirror, but this picture did not look like the mirror...ha!

Hunter's Christmas Tree Farm

We started this tradition with my family last year at Thanksgiving. The day after Thanksgiving we go to Hunter's Christmas Tree Farm, I had to post two flashback pictures from last year so I could see the difference, it is amazing how much Davis has changed over this last year.

Lance and I went over to the Cone's for dinner on November 14th. While we were there, Erin and Martha brought Ava over to play with Davis and Erin and I were able to catch up with mom stuff. Erin is expecting at the beginning of January. We had a fun time catching up and I think Davis and Ava had fun as well....you can see for yourself with the pictures below..ha!

25 Weeks Along (For Me)

Before they left we had to get a couple of belly shots and then some pictures of Ava with Davis.

At first they would not even look at the camera or each other.....but this quickly changed!

Ava immediately went in for the KISS! Davis really did not seem to mind.

Then, she was in for another kiss....we could not stop laughing! As Karen said, this looks more like bitin' than kissin'!

And she is in for ANOTHER kiss! I am not sure her Daddy would be so proud of this, but we could not stop laughing at these two. I love how Ava is holding her purse!

Thanks Erin for bringing Ava over, it was fun to catch up and watch these two!

Christmas Cards......My Favorite Time of the Year!

Can I just say that I LOVE this time of year..........and one of my favorite parts of the holidays is sending and receiving Christmas cards. Everyday, I go to the mailbox eager to see who has sent us a Christmas card, and then I proudly display them on my card display and I enjoy looking at them each day!

Christmas cards is a tradition I remember as a child. Each year, my mom would have to get the PERFECT family picture! We would often complain about getting this picture (some of us still complain.....including my husband) but this is one tradition I love. I remember taking Christmas card pictures on family vacations, or taking pictures at home and dressing in coordinating colors and dad would set up the tripod and set the timer and run back and forth a thousand times until we thought we had the perfect picture. But, it never failed that the dog was not looking, someone was not smiling, someone had their eyes shut, or my dad and brother were doing something funny like bunny ears.....but we always found the PERFECT picture (it may have taken a couple of retake sessions, but we always got THE picture!). Then mom would take time to write a family letter to let our family and friends know what we have been up to. Now, I have become that mom that has to find the perfect picture for the Christmas cards.

I was in the kitchen and it was really "quiet" which means something is up, so I went to find Davis and noticed he was in the office and this is what I found....haha! He looks like he is ready to get to work....or get in trouble! He loves to get in the chair and type on the computer.

October 15th - Cumming Fair

Lance and I have lived here for more than seven years and have never made it to the Cumming Fair. Well, we finally went this year. Davis had fun just watching everyone around him, but his favorite thing was the animals! We need to take him to a petting zoo, I think he would have so much fun! I have to admit fairs just gross me out, but it was fun to see Davis' excitement!

But, he HATED the slide! Lance and I thought he would love it since he loves the big one at Monkey Joes.....but Lance said this one was quite a bit faster......OOOPPPPSSS!! I felt so bad after I saw his face. Don't worry he was fine about 30 seconds later and told everyone in line "bye"!

Well, I know I have been MIA for quite a while. This whole working from home thing has been quite an adjustment not to mention, dealing with the exhaustion of pregnancy and keeping up with a toddler....I am POOPED!!

I really am enjoying my new job, but it has been very challenging. I have had to learn so much plus figure out how to work from home which was much harder than I would have thought. I thought I would have so much time to keep up with the house work, run errands etc.......and I feel like I have less time and the house is messier! I guess that is because I am here all the time. It is also hard for me to stop working at night since my work is always here I feel like I always have work to do that hangs over my head. But the good news is that it is getting better.

Although this has been very challenging, I am enjoying the opportunity to work from home and it has been such a blessing to get to spend more time with Davis. I LOVE getting up with him each morning, feeding him breakfast, and taking him to school and picking him up each day. I love the fact that he gets to take a nap in his bed each day. I love having him to myself all day on Fridays. It is these little things that make me so thankful that I took this opportunity. I am beginning to get more in a routine, but this has been a huge learning curve! Thankfully I have the most supportive husband in the world who helps me with whatever I need including grocery shopping and cooking.....I couldn't be more blessed.

My goal is to get in more of a schedule and begin making more time for myself and Lance....so hopefully I will be back to blogging a little more often.

One year is such a change......I cannot believe that this was Davis exactly one year ago at Burt's!

I love this tradition we have of going to Burt's pumpkin farm, and next year we will have a little girl to go to this farm...I can't wait! We missed having Casey and Kelley there with us...hopefully they can make it with us next year. Enjoy the pictures......I know there are a lot I just couldn't narrow it down!

~October 3rd~

We have known this for a while, I am just so BEHIND on blogging! I could not wait until our 20 week appointment to find out what we were having......as soon as I was close to 16 weeks we went to a ultrasound studio to identify the gender and our doctor was correct it was a girl!! Lance and I could not be more excited......Davis may not know what he is in for, but I know he will LOVE having a little sister to look after. We are so blessed and cannot wait for our baby girl to get here!
And now we can let the SHOPPING begin....I think Lance may have a heart attack when he finds out how much girls cost.............they are so EXPENSIVE!! When we found out we were having a girl, he immediately started thinking of how he was going to keep the boys away and how he was going to pay for wedding...haha! I can't wait to see Lance with a little girl, she will have daddy wrapped around her finger in no time! I just can't wait to have a girl, I treasure the relationship I have with my mom and I cannot wait to have that with my daughter. :)

18 Month Pictures of Davis

Well, I know that I have been MIA for a LONG while, and I promise I will be back soon! I have so many pictures to post, but I wanted to go ahead and post these. For those of you who don't know......Lance and I both went to Berry College in Rome, GA and that is where we met, and we also got married there. We LOVE Berry and I couldn't wait until Davis was old enough to do his pictures there...I have been waiting and waiting for that time. If you have never been to Berry, you need to go it is so worth the trip!

Lance and I packed Davis up and headed to Rome late Friday afternoon to meet Katherine Birkbeck....who is my FAVORITE photographer.....I LOVE her work! Last time we took pictures with Katherine Davis was 6 months old, and I told her over and over how happy he was and I swear he did not smile once that day, and those of you who know Davis know that is so not like him. But Friday was a completely different day....thank goodness! The only problem was he was so happy RUNNING around everywhere, we could barely get a good family picture, but she sure got some GREAT shots of Davis and boy did his personality show. Lance and I just love this pictures because she really captured his little fun spirit!

After pictures we went to eat at one of our favorite college restaurants Schroeders! It was a fun evening down memory lane!

Last Friday I got together with the Cone family! Last time I did pictures with Davis he was not the happiest little boy that his parents always tell me that he is. Well, this time he was ready to smile and laugh and run! After taking pictures for a little bit I think he realized who I was and what I was doing. We let him run and play all over Berry but when he would stop to notice me he would immediately bend down on one knee and strike a pose. It was the funniest thing ever and oh so cute! Davis is going to be a big brother in February as well! Maybe he'll teach her how to pose for pictures when she arrives. Here are some of my favorites from Friday's session...

I am going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!

Dear Family and Friends -

It has been a long time since I have written on this blog.....but I have some really big news to share with all of you today. Well......it is official I am going to be a BIG BROTHER!! My little baby sister or brother is due on March 3rd, but since my mom has to have another c-section, my baby sister or brother will be here sometime during the last two weeks of February. We are SUPER excited around our house! I am not sure what this BIG BROTHER thing is all about, but my mom and dad sure keep telling me that it is going to be great so I am looking forward to it (sort of.....I hear I am going to have to share all my toys and hugs and kisses......I am not sure how I feel about that)! I went to the doctor with mommy and daddy yesterday and the doctor said he is 75 percent sure it is a girl.......I think my mom really liked that news!! My dad seemed to like it too! When we got in the car, my daddy said well if it is a girl I need to start saving for a wedding and I need to buy a gun! Girls sound like they may be a lot of work!! I am kind of hoping for a little sister......but a little brother would be awesome too! Whatever it is, we are super excited!

Second CHANGE at the Cone House!

Well, as you can see we have lots of changes going on at our house!! The second change is I have decided to take a new job this year. Last year I was working part time as a Title I teacher at Midway Elementary. I loved my job and it was perfect to work a little and be able to spend more time with Davis. I really was blessed last year. But as you know with all the budget cuts part-time is always up in the air these days. So....this past year, I have been looking into the Georgia Cyber Academy as a back up plan because I get to work from home. But this wasn't really much of a back up plan because they had so many applicants!!

I began this interview process back in April and I went to an in person interview and had several phone interviews etc....but come July I still had not heard anything and began to lose hope. To make a long story short I ended up getting the job and I also was offered my job back at Midway so I had a big decision to make. I decided to put our family first. I just couldn't turn down this opportunity to work at home with another baby on the way. It is a full time job, but it is really flexible and I can create my own schedule on most days. I really think this was just another answer to a prayer. So Lance and I thought long and hard about it and I decided to take the GCA job. So, I am teaching third grade math and I am really excited about this new adventure

The best part is, one of my good friends from Midway, Gillette, also got offered a job at GCA and she took it so we are able to work some together and help each other out. This first few weeks has been VERY STRESSFUL just because I have so much to learn, but each day is getting better. My main concern was not having daily face to face contact with my colleagues...I am so big on sharing and collaborating...I love that part about teaching. But, I went to a two day professional developement meeting and was able to meet my team and other teachers in the school. All I have to say is I LOVE my team! They are so nice and helpful and I felt apart of the team from the moment we met, so I know it is meant to be!

I start teaching the week of September 7th, so I am looking forward to getting into a scheduled routine. Until then I am doing lost of administrative type work and getting to know all my parents, so I am spending lots of time on the phone. I will be teaching lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday via Elluminate, on the Internet. Monday is a LONG meeting day (but it is all done online so I am home) and Friday is my day to get organized, plan, hold conferences, hold field trips etc. GCA is a public school so I still get great benefits and the teacher retirement system which is so nice. GCA works with parents that are homeschooling their children. I will be working with these parents and helping them along the way. Anyway, that is just the "skinny" of my new job! First Day of School

Lance and I are so excited for Davis! He has a new year ahead of him with so many new experiences. Last year, he had the wonderful opportunity to have our neighbor Mrs. Tina watch him (and he was the only one with Mrs. Tina)! It was really perfect for his first year.......but the teacher in me really wanted him to be able to be exposed to more kids. Davis is so social Lance and I really thought Mother's Morning Out would be so good for him. I have heard such good things about Creekside Christian Academy, and they take kids once they can walk....which most places won't take them until they are two. So everything worked out perfect! Davis is going to school three days a week from 9:00 - 1:00. His teachers are WONDERFUL! This works out perfect with my new work schedule and I am able to get so much accomplished while he is at school. MeMe is still watching him on Tuesdays ......which he loves and Friday he is MINE all day.....which I LOVE! He is happy when I drop him off and happy when I pick him up! I am just so excited that his first week went well and that he seems to be adjusting so well. He even met a little friend, Parker....and Parker and Davis have the same birthday!!

Destin Beach Trip - July 12 - 16

Our annual 4th of July Destin trip with the Cones! We had a great time spending time together and enjoying the nice weather. We thought the oil spill may ruin our trip, but the water was beautiful and we did not see ANY oil! We had such a great time at the beach....Davis LOVES the beach as much as we all do! I could come down here once a month if it was closer.....there is nothing better than being on a beach. Enjoy all our beach pictures!

We went to Baytowne Wharf and Davis had so much fun dancing and playing with the kids......he started to throw a little fit when we had to leave! He also kept trying to get on stage......he already likes being center of attention!

Davis LOVED the carousel Lance and I do not think we are EVER seen him this HAPPY! We were not sure if he would like it, but he thought it was the BEST thing ever invented!! He laughed, smiled, and squealed the whole time. Every once in a while he would let go and clap and of course he had to keep kissing his horse...he is crazy!

Davis would walk up and down the beach and he would stop and say hey to everyone he passed. When he went on a walk with Nana she said people were talking to him and even giving him snacks....he was quite social at the beach.....I don't think he met a stranger the whole time we were there.

Davis used to be so good about posing for picture, but now he has better things to be doing I guess because we can barely get a picture anymore!

~July 19th~

On Saturday my cousin Kade married his beautiful bride, Sydnie. I was so glad we were able to attend. Davis of course ran around like a WILD man the whole time! I was so excited about getting him all dressed up cute to take some pictures but that did not go over well. He was way too BUSY for pictures....oh well.....at least he looked cute!

I was so excited about getting a nice family picture and this was by far the best one we had....pretty sad! We even took the picture as soon as we got there and Davis still would not behave. All he wanted to do was RUN!!!
