I am getting SO BIG!

Davis is getting so big, he is standing with little help while holding onto something sturdy and he is ALMOST crawling. He is constantly getting up on his hands and knews and rocking back and forth. I have a feeling Lance and I are about to be REALLY busy chasing a little man around our house and we can't wait!

"This crawling business is HARD work!"

"Sometimes it is faster to do my army crawl than a normal crawl!"

I LOVE his little pants, I just had to take this picture of his little booty!

"Look guys, I am only holding on with ONE hand!"

Why is it that Hershel always makes his way in a picture.

Thanksgiving with the Cones

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We had a great Thanksgiving and have loved our time relaxing with family this week. I have had the best week ever because I had the whole week off work, so I was able to hang out with my little buddy all day for a week........needless to say I am NOT looking forward to Monday.

I love this time of year. November is a special month for us, Lance and I started dating around this time of year in 1999, that seems so LONG ago and then we were married in November 2003. I cannot believe that we have been together for 10 years and friends for 12 years, time goes by so quickly.

Obviously I have so much to be thankful for this year. I am most thankful for the life of my Savior and all that he sacrificed for all of us. I am thankful for my loving husband and best friend who makes my life complete. I am thankful for wonderful parents. I am thankful for wonderful family and friends. And this year, I am especially thankful for Davis. I have waited my whole life to become a mother and I have to say it is the best GIFT in the world. I knew he would make us happy, but I had no idea that he would make us THIS happy. Lance and I just look at him and our hearts melt! I am loving our life, and could not imagine it any other way.

We spent Wednesday and Thursday with the Cones and had a great time. It was fun just to relax and enjoy spending time together. Davis had fun with his grandparents and aunts and uncles. He was very spoiled. I have to brag on Davis, he was so well behaved. He just went with the flow and was happy and social the whole time. Lance and I realize that we are very lucky and our next baby may not be this good!

Bath time in Nana's new kitchen sink. It is the perfect size! Aunt Anna helped bathe Davis.

"I love you Uncle Blake, do you want to have a staring contest?"

Davis sat in his jumperoo and jumped while we all had dinner. Next year, he will be able to eat with us.

New Traditions

We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family on Friday and had such a fun time. We started a new tradition this year. We went to Hunter's Christmas Tree farm in Alpharetta and had the best time. The farm is owned by a family friends, but we have never been before because we have fake trees. Our first year together, we got a real tree, which is what I wanted....but......we got our tree home and realized it looked like a charlie brown tree because of our two story living room. So the next year we got a fake 10 foot tree.....I could never afford this size tree if it was real. I honestly, can't wait to get a real tree again.......maybe next year. Now that we have Davis I think I can finally talk Lance into getting another tree. I have always wanted two trees, one fake and one real.

If you are looking for a fun place to get a Christmas tree this is it. And the best part is all the kids stuff was FREE! They had a craft station to make ornaments, pony rides, hay rides, hot chocolate and pictures with Santa. They are closed on Sundays. This is definitely a new family tradition for us.

They have this measuring post so you can take a picture there each year and see how much they have grown...what a cute idea. Next year Davis will be able to stand there on his own.

I was so nervous that Davis was going to fall off this tractor while Lance was taking the picture.
But Davis seemed to think otherwise, he was NOT nervous at all!
"I am fine Mom, just let Daddy take my picture!"

SAD-Peek-A-Boo

Davis is usually so happy when he gets up, as I said in my last post, but once in a while, I have an unhappy camper! Most mornings, he starts talking to himself and babbling away and making cute little squeals. But not this morning! He wanted OUT! When I got in there, he was peeking out the crib at me and it was so cute, I had to get a picture. Once I got him out and loved on him he was fine!

"OKAY, Seriously Mom, get me out of here. This is not a time for pictures, can't you see I am ready to get out of my crib. I don't even believe you left me here to go get the camera to take a picture of me........I am not feeling your love here!"

Happy Boy!

Lance and I love to go get our little buddy when he wakes up from naps. He is USUALLY happy as can be. I could just eat this little guy up! He is getting so big, I cannot believe it. We just bought him some new clothes, and now he is ready for some more new clothes. They grow so quick. Lance had to lower our crib because our little buddy was starting to get on all fours and pull up on the bumper pads. I knew it was time to lower the bed, when he was peeking over the bed one morning......that was a little scary.......of course he was smiling!

Put a sock in it!

Davis' favorite thing to do these days is to take off his socks and put them right in his mouth. Last week, we went on a play date with two of my friends from Sharon Elementary, Mary Paige and Shannon. I should have taken pictures, but I left my camera. Anyway, we all have babies around the same age. Davis had a BLAST playing with all of them, but he did have a problem pulling off every one's socks. He is so funny! I really enjoy getting together with moms. It has been so nice to talk about the babies and get new ideas and let the kids play. I wish I had more time to do this. I am so thankful to be working part-time, so that I have more time to spend with Davis, but I am amazed at how quickly a day can go by. We try to take advantage of every moment we can. I am LOVING being a mom! Davis is fascinated with other babies and kids. I hope he continues to be a social baby, right now he LOVES people!

6 Month Pictures

Well, despite Davis' behavior on Friday, Katherine still managed to get some good pictures (I have no idea how she did that because he really did not cooperate at all........I thought we were going to have to have a retake). She is amazing.....I love her work. You can now go to her website (posted below) to see our family pictures. Once you get there, click on the right box to go to her blog that is where our pictures are posted. I have posted the same pictures on here, but you can see them better on her blog. If you LOVE pictures like I do, you could look at her blog all day long! She has some awesome engagement pictures she took in New York City a couple of weeks ago that are incredible...you just have to keep scrolling down to get to them.

Enjoy!

Fall is in the air!

I LOVE the fall! This is probably one of my favorite times of the year. I have been so exciting about getting Davis' 6 month pictures taken. We were taking them with Katherine Birkbeck, who took his newborn pictures. I love her creative photography. If you haven't seen her pictures you need to check them out. Her link is on my blog sidebar (KB Photography) go to her website and click on blog and you can see all her recent pictures. They are fabulous. I am a frequent stalker of her blog!

Well, we went to take pictures on Friday, and what do you know.......Davis did not want to smile AT ALL!! He always is smiling and laughing....well not on Friday. He wanted no part in taking pictures.....I think he may have gotten this from his dad! I was so BUMMED! I have been looking forward to this day for months. I hope Katherine was able to capture something. Later that night he regained his personality and was all smiles. I don't know what his deal was on Friday. So, later that afternoon, Lance and I took him down the street to try to get some fall pictures in the leaves. He was not wanting to smile much for us either, but we did get a few good shots. Oh well, maybe next year!

On Saturday, Lance's mom and dad came to watch Davis so Lance and I could get away for a night! Our 6 year Anniversary is coming up and we decided to celebrate a little early. We went to spend the day in Atlanta, eat at Bones, and spend the night at the JW Marriot. It was such a nice little get away! We are so thankful that Lance's parents could watch Davis for us. I know that Davis had a BLAST! I heard that his PaPa was trying to teach him proper crawling techniques and when Lance and I got home, Nana was dancing around with him, so it looks like he got some dancing lessons too!

Buddies!

Davis loves to play with his Daddy on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Davis loves Hershel more and more each day. He loves to touch him. You can ask Davis where Hershel is and he will look for him......so cute!

Every time I want to get rid or Hershel (which happens more and more frequently........I NEVER thought I would say that, but he drives me so crazy sometimes), I look at this face and know that I could never give Davis' little buddy away.

Davis is fascinated by Hershel's paws, tail, and ears! I hope this LOVE continues....so far so good!

Better LATE than NEVER!

I am so late on posting Davis' 6 month letter, but I have to do it for journaling purposes. I had it written so far in advance, but kept forgetting to get his picture with his bear. I finally took his picture yesterday, yes I know he is almost 7 months, but oh well. Better late than never! I cheated the system and dated it October 14th, so it would be in the right order. So if you want to read his letter scroll down to October 14th. Hope everyone has a fantastic week!
